Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Saudi club Al Nasser for a record fee. However, Vincent Abubakar's forehead burned when the Portuguese star came. Al Nasser said goodbye to him due to complications with the foreign quota.
A club in Saudi Arabia can field a maximum of eight foreign footballers. Al Nasser had eight foreign footballers before Ronaldo signed up. As CR Seven came, one had to be dropped. Abubakar was eventually cut to register Ronaldo.
Abubakar came into the discussion after scoring a last-minute goal against Brazil in the World Cup against Cameroon. Not only by scoring a goal, this forward had to leave the field with a red card after taking off his jersey to celebrate.
However, despite seeing a red card, Abubakar became a hero after defeating five-time world champions Brazil. Abubakar signed a three-year contract with Al-Nasr on June 8, 2021 for around 66 million taka (6 million euros) per year.
Rumor has it, Abubakar can now join Manchester United on a free transfer. Nothing is certain yet though. We will have to wait for some more time to finally know the destination of Abu Bakr.
Meanwhile, the forward line of Al Nasser was waiting to see the pair of Ronaldo-Abubakr, but the fans did not fulfill their wish. Besides, fans will have to wait some more time to see Ronaldo on the field.
