Chelsea coach Graham Potter is blamed by fans and former footballers for this loss. The demand for Potter's farewell is increasing. Meanwhile, the supporters want to see the former coach Tukhel again in the position of coach.
Premier League giant Chelsea is having a nightmare this season. The team is at number 10 in the points table. Chelsea did not care about Manchester City in the last match in the FA Cup. However, the 47-year-old Chelsea's current coach Graham Potter told the fans to wait for calmer and better times in the press conference after losing the match.
He said, 'What can we do other than doing our job well? I understand the fans' frustration. I also respect their feelings. Since I did not play well, we will be criticized. And that's part of the job. But, I would ask everyone to stay united as a team, and support us.'
Chelsea appointed Graham Potter as coach in May last year. But this English coach could not present anything good to the fans after coming to the new club. Under him, Chelsea has played a total of 17 matches, of which the Blues are at number 10 in the points table with 7 wins, 4 draws and 5 losses. That is why fans and former footballers are criticizing him so much. Instead, they want to see former coach Thomas Tuchel in charge of Chelsea again. Supporters even brought Tuchel back with a song on the day of the defeat to Man City.
Thomas Tuchel took charge of Chelsea in 2021. The team won the UEFA Champions League title after 9 years after taking charge. But he was sacked by the Blues after a year. Where the reasons were shown to be not retaining good footballers and poor performance of regular players on the field. But now the supporters want that Tukhel as a coach.
Meanwhile, Chelsea's former star footballer Frank Leboeuf of France also agreed with the fans and has now made a post on social media about Gaham Potter's departure.
LeBoeuf said, 'A lot has happened and not. I also played in this club. This is not the Chelsea I know. This is the situation of the team after the arrival of the new coach. In my opinion, this coach should be dismissed now.'
However, Chelsea owner Ted Bohley doesn't want to say goodbye to Graham Potter just yet. Instead, the owner told the British newspaper that a 5-year contract was signed with him for 5 million pounds. They do not want to break the agreement midway.
